Spectainer is looking for a new product engineer to join our talented and dynamic team! The ideal candidate is a creative, driven and productive individual who has a background in Mechanical Design and is trained in Creo Parametric and technical documentation. This role will be a key member of our Product Development Team, working under the guidance of our CEO and Product Leads. The individual filling in this role will get a chance to join the team behind COLLAPSECON and COS, our flagship product and the first ever fully-automated collapsible container solution.

The product engineer must be rigorous, detail-oriented and has a strong ability to take initiative and be proactive.

The successful product engineer will be trained and developed for a more senior role in the Product Development or Technical Team.

Role Purpose

The Product Engineer is responsible for assisting the Product Lead(s) in design, modification and documentation of Spectainer products.

Role Accountabilities

  • Support the final stages of Spectainer’s COLLAPSECON & COS design, prepare technical drawings, specification, BOM, prepared parts list, production drawings, patent drawings, and other technical documentation.
  • Assist in developing new design concepts.
  • Assist in the durability assessments of all OEM parts and components to ensure the components/parts are able to meet the company’s target useful lifecycle
  • Assist in preparing test schedules to ensure products operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with service team to write the maintenance manuals and repair tariff, and testing requirements to ensure the COLLAPSECON meets the durability and operating standard, and conform with the onsite safety standard under guidance of the Product Lead.
  • Ensure that all technical documentation is up-to-date.
  • Assist in the provision of cross-functional support to ensure COLLAPSECON & COS are successfully implemented.
  • Assist in the provision of onsite training to operators and supervise the entire set-up process to ensure the COLLAPSECON is fully operable and commissioned.

Your day-to-day duties will typically consist of:

  • Using computer aided engineering and design software and equipment to perform drafting and design.
  • Liaising with the whole Product Team as well as outside stakeholders in monitoring the day-to-day production.
  • Liaising with suppliers for design and construction information and documentation.
  • Developing design for new product concepts.
  • Partaking in the analysis of research data and proposed product specifications to determine feasibility of designs.
  • Drafting technical documentation including manufacturing and quality assurance drawings assemblies and components in addition to other clerical and document control activities.
  • Assisting in the experimental test programs to ensure designs meet final product specifications.
  • Analysing test data and technical reports to determine if current and/or new designs and products meet functional and performance specifications.

Key Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering. With a specialisation in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field.
  • Experience with Creo Parametric, Creo Simulate for 3D CAD and FEM analysis packages.
  • Highly collaborative and team-oriented, with comfort in ambiguity and rapid change.
  • Commitment to adhere to project timeline.
  • Dedicated to take part to drive the team’s success.
  • Strong conceptual and analytical skills.
  • Fluency in Mandarin and English.

Compensation and benefits:

  • Fixed Annual Salary: $40,000 – $60,000
